Twice a year, we conduct quail trapping across 350 locations on the ranch—once in the Fall and again in the Spring. Our Fall trapping session is currently underway, running from December 2nd to December 14th. The primary objective of these efforts is to equip captured birds with radio collars and enhance our mark-recapture database, which serves as one of our most valuable datasets for understanding quail population dynamics.
Given our population estimates, we anticipate a high number of captures during this trapping session. To support this large-scale effort, we welcome volunteers to join us.
