The Rolling Plains Quail Research Foundation was first conceptualized in 2005 by a group of quail hunters who envisioned a ranch property devoted to researching and understanding quail. Their hope was a new organization with its own property to serve as a living laboratory to devise management strategies for the benefit of quail and demonstrate the best practices in conservation. The Foundation was established over the next two years and received a property in Fisher County to serve as its Research Ranch through the generosity of the Richard King Mellon Foundation and The Conservation Fund.

Without the careful planning by our founders, the Rolling Plains Quail Research Foundation would not exist today. Now, RPQRF relies on planned gifts from our supporters to continue our unique research and education efforts. What kind of legacy will you leave?

Wills and Living Trusts
Arranging a planned gift to RPQRF through your will or living trust is easy. Simply include the following bequest language (or similar language) in your will or living trust:

I bequeath $ _____________ or _____% of my residuary estate to the Rolling Plains Quail Research Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with tax identification number 20-8781238, for its ongoing conservation and education purposes.

Beneficiary Designations
Beneficiary designations are also an easy way to complete a gift for quail conservation. These designations are common for IRAs and retirement plans, life insurance policies, commercial annuities, certificates of deposits and brokerage accounts.

Unlike wills and living trusts, these assets use separate beneficiary forms to determine who receives them. These designations can be split across beneficiaries and modified at any time to meet your changing needs.

Here’s how to name Rolling Plains Quail Research Foundation as a beneficiary:

  1. Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form.
  2. Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like us to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form.
  3. Return the completed form to your plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution.

By naming the Rolling Plains Quail Research Foundation in your will or living trust, or as a beneficiary or recipient of a special bequest, you will make a lasting impact on quail research and conservation.
