And they’re off!

RPQRR’s latest effort in translocating wild-trapped bobwhites to sites further east kicks off tomorrow. Tarleton St. graduate student John Palarski and his trapping crew scoured west and south Texas three weeks ago and successfully trapped a total of 167 quail. Special thanks to our “Quail Donors” (who will remain anonymous) and to the Park Cities and Cross Timbers chapters of Quail Coalition, Quahadi Ranch, Tarleton St. University, and RPQRF for their support. Over 100 of the birds are equipped with radio transmitters (5 of those with GPS transmitters). Stay tuned; we’ll keep you posted on our progress.
